The Adventures of Bostody and Yestica

It was a sunny day in Provo, UT when I first met Jessica Oliver.
I had the day off and was all alone in my apartment when her and a friend knocked on my door.
They were thinking about moving into the complex and just wanted to see the inside of the apartments (you get these kind of knocks a lot when you live in Provo).
I of course let them in and answered there questions. I felt like I was in an interview and just as she was leaving she said "ok, well thanks, I will let you know what we decide."
I crossed my fingers and told her " I hope I win!"

I won.

(2005)

Its been 5 years and we are STILL the best of friends.

(jess came to visit me in California in 2008)

We have done pretty good about keeping in contact with one another, but even if we hadn't...Jessica is one of those friends that no matter how long its been, it feels like no time has passed at all. I LOVE that.

I recently flew to Texas to visit her and I have missed her everyday since. Time flies when you laugh a lot and when Jess and I are together, we laugh a LOT.I had never been to Texas and Jessica made sure to show me a good time.

Beach, ferries, funnel cakes, henna tattoos, boardwalks, delicious ribs--made by her father that cooks better then any restaurant we ate at in Texas.

I L.O.V.E this girl and am very grateful that I was home the day she came knocking.

I really did "LOL"

Work right now is CRAZY. We have 2 huge events coming up at the end of this month and I created a make-n-take for one of them. Its a mini album and today I was writing out the instructions for it. I was trying my best to be descriptive since we are not providing individual pictures for each page. I had to describe that I wanted them to use the glitter lightly and to not pour it on their page. Without even thinking about it, I started typing....

" ...stamp your image down on your paper and while the ink is still wet, grab you glitter and shake it like a salt shaker..."

I LAUGHED OUT LOUD for a long, long time (I still am).

FYI: I didn't change it.

PS. this is only funny if you know that its a line out of a ying yang twins song. If you don't know the song, please don't look it up. Its nasty.

Hundred dollars my foot.

One MAJOR plus about working at a scrapbook store is that I get to meet and create relationships with some of THE most talented women.
My dear friend Anna is one of these women.
I can spot an Anna-piece-of-work a mile away.
She is super talented, the sweetest mommy and the kindest woman I have ever met (no joke).
Last Friday I had the opportunity to go "play" at her house.
I had so much fun crafting, creating and chatting with her.
I loved it because I SO often crave that kind of time with my own sister (she lives in Maryland) and I very rarely get to "play creative" with her.
So being able to do that with Anna was a special treat.
THANKS ANNA!! ♥

Anna and I saw these Butterfly Fabric Necklaces on a blog that we both stalk.
We fell in love.
The lady that makes them sells them for over a HUNDRED dollars.
uh. No thank you.
We decided that we would try to create them ourselves.

Anna, I stole your pictures off your blog. :)

Here is my finished necklace. I am happy with how it turned out. I am going to change the ribbon that goes around my neck. I just grabbed some and tied it on there to snap a picture.

I know. It makes quite the statement, but I myself can make quite a statement..so maybe I can pull it off?

yay? nay?

Hibernation should not just be for animals.

I feel like my life is in fast forward mode right now.
I have WAY too many things going on.
It's so hard for me to stay focused and I am STRESSED to the max.

Normally I really enjoy Sundays, they're usually quiet and relaxing.
However, today was not one of those days.
The entire day I kept thinking to myself "ugh, I can't wait till today is over."
Then I got to really thinking and decided that I really can't wait till this next week is over (which is super sad because my birthday is on Thursday).
THEN I thought...well, actually if I could just sleep through the entire month of April that would be great. The month of April is CRAZY for me.

Is that horrible of me to want to sleep through parts of my life?

Does anyone else ever feel that way?

Is it possible to enjoy life when you feel like you don't even have one?

My life right now=work, church and a lot of meetings.
Which may not sound like a lot, but when you have 5 projects going on at work and fairly big event that you are in charge of at church and meetings every week about these things. It just takes its toll.
Luckily, I get a break.
Like I mentioned above, my 24th birthday is this Thursday. I am NOT happy about this.
I actually kinda dislike my birthday.
BUT this year I decided to give myself a birthday present.
I bought myself a ticket to Texas to see one of my best friends Jessica.
I haven't seen her in over 2 years and thought that a little vacation would be a nice distraction from an unwanted birthday.
So I just need to get through this week one day at a time and try my best to enjoy this hectic portion of my life.

PS. I tried to find a picture of a chicken with its head cut off (cartoon one) to post at the end of this blog because thats what I feel like right now. I clicked on this link and it went straight to a youtube video of a real chicken getting its head cut off. I accidently just watched the whole thing and now not only am I exhausted from my day, but now I am crying and depressed about that poor chicken.
goodnight, life. I will deal with you tomorrow.

A New Look

So I have had quite a few people ask to see a picture of my new hair. It took me a little bit to get used to it, but I have decided that I love it. I kinda feel like a new girl.

Here it is...
Keep your opinions to yourself, unless they are positive ones.

Shhh...

So there is a new movie coming out around the end of March called The Last Song. It's based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks (author of A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Dear John)
I REALLY want to see it.
I love movies and I am a sucker for love stories. Is there a girl that isn't? I also think it has to do with the fact that I am a single girl that doesn't have a whole lot of romance in my life at the moment. So I choose to live my love life vicariously through Nicholas Sparks characters.

Should I be embarrassed that I read Nicholas Sparks books?
Is it only ok when you are in high school?
Well, regardless of what you think. I enjoy them. They are a fun and easy read.

What do you think? Wanna see it with me?
Well, before I see it I wanna read the book. The books are always better and I hear this one is really good. The only thing is..I kinda hate buying books. Very few times are you going to read the same book twice. So you buy it, read it and then it sits there and you become the library for someone else. Which I totally don't mind because like I said, I'm not going to read it again. Buying books adds up.
The other day I was talking to a friend and she said that she had gone to the library to get some books.

Ummmm......we still have those?!?!

Libraries. duh. I can't remember the last time I went into a county library. I remember when I was a little girl my mom would take me to the library during summer time and I got to pick out some books I wanted. I remember LOVING it. I think I still have my very first library card in my memory box at the top of my closet. It was bright yellow.

So today after work I went to the library and got myself a library card. I walked up and down all the aisles and peeked through the books and spied on people. You can do some serious people watching in Libraries. There were some very interesting characters there and I'm NOT talking about the ones in the books.
I didn't find the one I was wanting, but came home with a couple other ones.
To Kill a Mockingbird and Stargirl (No, Tiff...I haven't read it yet AND the information lady laughed at me because Stargirl was in the "juvenile childrens section". She must have thought it was humorous that I was reading a childs book. Whatever, she smelled weird.) So all in all the library was a success. I will read my books and have them back in 7 days.

I searched for an aisle less visited and had a photoshoot.
